Do you have small white bumps or ‘white heads’ that usually appear on the nose, cheeks and forehead, but they can occur anywhere on the body. Many people refer to these as milk spots but they are in fact called Milia, which are tiny cysts filled with a protein called keratin.
Milia are often yellowy white in colour but can turn red if irritated. There are many different types of Milia and the reasons why they can suddenly appear are varied.
In the majority of cases, Milia will disappear of their own accord. However, if they do not, then our experienced team of skin specialists have a range of options to safely remove them.
Despite the existence of many online videos which try to show how to remove milia at home, we do not recommend this. Our Dermatologists advise against trying to pop or remove the Milia yourself, because it could lead to infection or scarring.
We see many patients for Milia removal and have years of experience in removing them quickly, safely and effectively.
If you would like to book a consultation to discuss milia extraction or to have your milk spots removed, please telephone us on +44 20 7935 6358, send an enquiry on the Contact Us Page or email [email protected].
I was introduced to Dr Ariel Haus a few years and I’m very grateful for that introduction. Both himself and staff are very professional, I always get a warm welcome and I would highly recommend him for your Dermatology needs.
