Many of us will have small white bumps or ‘white heads’ that usually appear on the nose, cheeks and forehead, but they can occur anywhere on the body. These are known as Milia which are tiny cysts filled with a protein called keratin.
Milia are often yellowy white in colour but can turn red if irritated. There are many different types of Milia and the reasons why they can suddenly appear are varied.
In the majority of cases, Milia will disappear of their own accord. However, if they do not, our experienced team of skin specialists have a range of options to safely remove them. It is important not to try and ‘pop’ or remove the Milia yourself as you may end up with a visible scar.
We see many patients for Milia removal and have experience in removing them quickly and effectively.
I was introduced to Dr Ariel Haus a few years and I’m very grateful for that introduction. Both himself and staff are very professional, I always get a warm welcome and I would highly recommend him for your Dermatology needs.
