Dr Gkini qualified from Aristotle University Medical School in Greece and completed her initial training in Dermatology at university hospitals in Athens. Dr Gkini later undertook additional training in Dermatology at Barts NHS Trust in London. Her special interests include hair disorders, acne, psoriasis and eczema, skin cancer, dermatologic surgery and aesthetic dermatology.
Dr. Maria-Angeliki Gkini qualified from Aristotle University Medical School in Greece and completed initial training in Dermatology at university hospitals in Athens, including the Andreas Syggros Hospital for Cutaneous & Venereal Diseases. Dr Gkini later undertook additional training in Dermatology at Barts Health NHS Trust in London.
Dr Gkini holds a Masters Degree in International Medicine (Health Crisis Management) and a PhD investigating the efficacy and safety of platelet–rich plasma (PRP) in the management of non-scarring alopecias.
Dr Gkini is active in research and has participated as a speaker at numerous national and international congresses. She has multiple publications in international peer-reviewed journals and has been a sub-investigator in more than 30 academic and commercial studies. Recently Dr Gkini has been involved in researching biologic interventions for the treatment of psoriasis.
Dr Gkini is member of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, the British Association of Dermatologists, the American Academy of Dermatology, the Royal College of Physicians, the European Society for Dermatology and Psychiatry, the International Dermoscopy Society and the World Society of Anti-Ageing Medicine.
Dr Gkini is passionate about the holistic management of her patients and strongly believes that dealing with the interaction between skin and mind is key to achieving healthy skin.
Her work includes treatment for psoriasis and eczema, skin cancer, hair disorders, acne dermatologic surgery and aesthetic dermatology. Dr Gkini speaks Greek and English.
