Anti-Wrinkle Treatments

Botox London

At our Dermatology Clinic on Harley Street London, we offer consultations and treatments to improve face lines and wrinkles.

While the specific treatment recommended will vary from person to person, a good option for many will be botox injections containing Botulinum Toxin Type A.

This prescription only medicine is often called Botox, or even Baby Botox for short. However Botox is also the brand name of a specific Botulinum Toxin type A product. In our clinic we use Botox and other brands.

Botox Harley Street

The effectiveness of Botox for face means that in recent years there has been an explosion in the number of Botox clinics in London.

At our CQC registered skin clinic we have been providing anti wrinkle treatments for nearly 15 years. During this time patient safety has always been a top priority for us. We strongly believe that Botox injections should not be carried out by anyone without the appropriate medical qualifications, training and experience. As such only experienced Dermatologists and Registered Nurses perform these anti wrinkle injections at our clinic.

Baby Botox London

Due to the coverage it is getting in the media, many people are currently asking us what is Baby Botox?  The answer, is that it’s a special technique used by experienced injectors rather than a different type of product.

By using small amounts of product that are strategically injected around the face, our medical professionals can use their skills to soften your wrinkles but ensure that you still keep your facial expressions.  Baby Botox may be suitable for younger adults who have only mild lines or wrinkles.  It also prevents the frozen look that many people now wish to avoid.

Best Botox London

While we think our many positive online Botox reviews are a good indication of our patient’s satisfaction, for anyone needing further assurance Country & Townhouse Magazine have recently named our clinic’s founder Dr Haus in their list of where to get the best botox in London.

What is Botox?

Botox is a muscle relaxant and prescription-only medicine. It is used for a range of different therapeutic purposes in addition to treating lines and wrinkles on the face. Botox injections are injected intramuscular, using a very fine needle, similar in size to what is used in acupuncture.

How Does Botox Work?

The injections work to block the synapse, or junction between the nerve and muscle. Then in a matter of days, the Botox injections will have the effect of reducing the muscle activity that causes lines and wrinkles.  The results will always vary from person to person and therefore no guarantee as to efficacy can be given.

How Long Does Botox Take To Work?

The manufacturer’s guidelines for Botox state that you will usually see an improvement within the first week after injection.  However, at our clinic we advise patients to wait between 1 to 2 weeks for the best Botox results.

How Long Does Botox Last?

Botox results will always differ from person to person and sometimes in the same person over time. For most people the effects of Botox injected into the face will last around 4 months.

Is Botox Safe?

The use of Botulinum Toxin Type A to improve the appearance of moderate to severe glabellar lines (‘eleven lines’ between the eyebrows) was first approved in the United States in 2002.

More than 20 years later, Botox injections are the number one non-surgical aesthetic treatment worldwide.  The latest figures from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery indicate that in 2018 in the U.S.  alone, there were over 1.8 million treatments using Botulinum Toxin Type A.

Where Can I Have Botox on Face?

In the U.K. Botox is approved to temporarily improve the appearance of the following areas of the face:

  • vertical lines between the eyebrows or glabellar lines,
  • fan-shaped lines from the corner of the eyes or crows feet and
  • forehead lines.

However like all medicines Botox does have known side effects, some of which are common and some less-common. The likely side effects of Botox will be explained to you as part of our informed consent procedure before treatment commences, but you can also read about some of them here
